From Wandering to Stay: How a Cat’s Lifelong Dream of Living Indoors Was Fulfilled by the Arrival of Her Kitten

After a lifetime of longing for a cozy indoor environment, a feline has finally found her dream home alongside her young kitten.

The heartwarming story of Remille the cat and Hardy the kitten begins on a remote farm located near Montreal, Canada. The family who owns the farm noticed abandoned cats around their property, and as time went by, the number of felines increased. They did their best to rescue every cat they found, be it from the side of the road or elsewhere.

However, the family soon realized that they could not care for so many cats properly. Some of them were sick or injured due to fights, and they needed immediate attention. That’s when they reached out for help and contacted Chatons Orphelins Montréal for assistance.

Celine Crom from Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow, “We received a plea for help from the family, and we knew we had to act fast.” Julie, an animal rescuer, also heard about the situation and immediately took action. She noticed that one of the cats had a cloudy eye and was covered in mats, but she didn’t give up hope. Thanks to their efforts, Remille the cat and Hardy the kitten were rescued and brought back to health.

With the assistance of humane traps, Julie managed to rescue all the cats and kittens, and brought them to Chatons Orphelins Montréal. To her surprise, some of the cats were pregnant, specifically the one with an eye condition. Prior to being placed in foster care, each feline received proper medical attention for their well-being.

One of the kitties, affectionately named Remille, had long hair and a cloudy eye. When she was discovered, she weighed a mere 1.3 kg and was extremely malnourished.

Once brought indoors, Remille was a whole different cat. She became incredibly loving and affectionate towards her caregivers at Chatons Orphelins Montréal. After some much-needed grooming to remove all of the mats and knots in her coat, she looked and felt like a brand new feline, and her satisfaction was evident through her purring. Despite her health issues, including an ulcer on her cornea and testing positive for FIV, Remille still craved attention and loved to be doted on by her caretakers. In just a few days, she gained a significant amount of weight and really came out of her shell, revealing a playful and spunky personality.

The organization Chatons Orphelins Montréal was thrilled to announce the heartwarming story of a tabby girl named Remille. After being taken in as a foster cat, she was given the love and care she needed to regain her strength. Her foster mom devoted all her attention to Remille, who relished in her newfound joy for life.

One evening, Remille went into labor and gave birth to a litter of four kittens. Unfortunately, three of them were too tiny to survive, despite the best efforts of the organization. The biggest kitten, named Hardy, was the only survivor.

Celine, a spokesperson for Chatons Orphelins Montréal, expressed her delight at seeing Remille recover and thrive under the care of her foster mom. It’s always heartwarming to see rescued animals find happiness and love in their forever homes.

Despite being just six weeks old, the little boy kitten is already one of the strongest and heaviest in the litter. He still relies on nursing and bottle feeding, but that’s perfectly normal at his age.

Remille, who is still a young cat herself at 10 months old, is grateful for the help she is receiving in raising her kitten. She takes care of Hardy by keeping him clean and teaching him how to play.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal is an organization that takes care of orphaned kittens in Montreal. One of their kittens has brought joy and warmth to her new indoor environment. This kitten is full of life and loves playing with feather toys while following her fellow kitten around the house. When she’s not playing, she enjoys getting close to her humans for some snuggles and cuddles. “She even coos and chirps while she talks,” according to Celine from Chatons Orphelins Montréal.

Remille is teaching her adorable little kitten how to behave like a proper cat. Hardy, the solo kitten, is always on the move and eager to explore his surroundings. He has recently learned how to groom himself and is even starting to play by mimicking his mother. Remille spends her days showing him how things work and letting him nurse on her for comfort at night.
