In a heartrending tale of neglect turned into hope, a female dog was discovered on the streets with a severely distended belly filled with fluid.
Thankfully, her fortunes changed when a kind-hearted woman found her and brought her to RRSA Animal Shelter for help. The shelter staff named her Sushi, and her road to recovery began.
The first sight of Sushi left rescuers shocked and saddened. Her abdomen was hugely enlarged and expanded, overtaking her body and rendering her unable to walk properly.
It was clear that she had been suffering for some time, as her condition had worsened to the point where her belly was constantly filled with fluid.
