Amazing Rescue of a Poor Stray Dog Stuck in Melting Rubber with His Body Stiff and Crying for Help

A female dog ran around an industrial area and hit the asphalt in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand not long ago. This is a consequence of the uncontrolled release of asphalt into the environment.

The light brown dog stepped on the thick, sticky plastic and couldn’t move. It toppled and became trapped in the toxic mixture, only its mouth sticking out for air. Supatra Baisri, 30, a local, was shocked to find the dog was sinking in the plastic mixture.

He said: “I can’t get into the rubber because I would get stuck too. I couldn’t even reach the dog with a stick to help him.” Supatra called emergency services and they rushed to the scene.

They dispatched an excavator to rescue the dog. Workers at a nearby factory soaked the dog in benzine oil to remove the rubber and prevent serious damage to its skin and fur.

The rescue operation lasted two hours and the dog, named Mali by veterinarians, is now safe. One of the vets who treated Mali said: “People need to be much more careful about how they handle litter. It can cause a lot of harm to animals. If no one finds Mali, it will.
