Cute Baby Fox Was Rescued And Reunited With Mom After Being Found Alone And ‘Crying’

A baby fox was reunited with its mother, thanks to the efforts of the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. As the organization shared on Facebook and Instagram, a homeowner heard a cry coming from their garden in Arlington. Upon further investigation, the homeowner discovered a baby fox! The little fox was crying in distress and seemed alone, with no mother in sight.

The homeowner knew just what to do and immediately called the AWLA. Two rescuers responded to the call and were relieved to find the fox cub in stable condition. The post shared: “When Sgt. Ballena and Officer Elpers arrived at the house, they checked the baby, and thankfully he was alert, hydrated, and had a full belly.”

Because of the cub’s condition, the rescuers suspected that the mama fox was nearby. They didn’t want to move the fox and risk separating it from its mother, so instead, they placed it in a basket that it couldn’t climb out of. They left the basket in a safe place in the garden and gave the cub plenty of space. This would allow the mother fox plenty of time to locate the little cub before it could wander away.

“The homeowner kept an eye on him the rest of the day, and we are happy to report that by the next morning, the mother had safely retrieved her baby!” they said. We’re so happy the rescue was a success! Thanks to the quick actions of the homeowner calling the appropriate organization, the little fox cub was happily reunited with its mom.

As a reminder, if you find an abandoned baby animal or an animal in need, it’s important to give the animal plenty of space and call trained rescue professionals to ensure the best outcome possible.
